It's time for post-season play, getting closer to the World Series
With the Dodgers at home, loaded with great players, you'd expect them
to come roaring out of the gate.

But, they are now down 2-0 to the Braves. No picture capsulizes the
current situation than the Gonsolin er leaving the mound with his head
down after giving 4 runs.

Even so, the Dodgers made a game of it and only lost 8-7. Melancon got
the save. Melancon got the win and Will Smith got the win in the
opening game of the series.

All that remains is for the Braves to put Pablo in a game.

They're not out of it yet after winning game 3 by a blowout.

Kershaw may be pitching in game 4 after back spasms knocked him out of
game 2.

He really has to come through for them.

You know what the real crime is? Tampa Bay Rays may go to the WS with
one of the smallest payrolls in the majors.

They didn't rely on high draft picks only. They traded and found great
talent from other teams.

Of course they make all the high and medium payroll teams look bad,
including the Giants.

But also including the A's. Sounds like Tampa is doing better at
moneyball than Beane.

I know, that's really annoying to see a cheap team go to the WS when
everyone else has spent on big names. Some of it might be skewed by
the short length of the season, maybe something else.

However, they played the game and they seem to have the players to do
the job, so kudos to them. The Giants, other than Yaz and a couple of
other, really didn't have much going for them. And of course, they
were saddle with big contracts. It's an ongoing process to find some
starters and some help in the bullpen. You know Melancon is a free
agent, right? :)

Now, to the subject of the Bums. A big game is fine, but theyr'[e
still down a game and I'm counting on the Curse of Kershaw to work
it's magic. :)

Dodgers win to force game 6 while the Astros force game 7 after being
down 0-3.

Have a sinking feeling it will be Dodgers vs. Astros because that is
what MLB needs the most now, after Yankees choked.

Watch the umpiring calling balls and strikes.

I'm looking forward to the competition, not matter who wins the
playoffs. It was fun watching the Yankees tank, so I'm already
satisfied with the way things have gone.

I usually watch the umpires because the pitch locator really gives
them away.
