These injuries are really biting the team but even before the season,
they were not expected to be competitive against other WC teams which
signed big names.


Phillies are finally heating up, maybe Mets will too.

Without making some moves at the trade deadline, Giants are likely to
settle into the preseason predictions, which had them at best contending
for one of the last WC slots.

But what can they trade to get help? ARe they willing to increase
payroll to get rental players?

It's the lousy starting rotation, too. Zaidi going bargain basement on pitchers
saddled the Giants with Stripling and Manaea. Manaea is now camoflaged as
a reliever and Stripling finally came off IL. DeSclafani is showing signs of his
usual second half nose dive.

The Giants are still very suseptible to left handed pitching. Conforto is
and the new players can't be expected to take up all the slack.
