14 runs against the Pirates and the Wonder Twins, Bailey and Schmitt were hitting up a storm. Over the last 14 games, the Giants have won 11 of them.

Played better but came back down to earth in the home stand.

If the front office is serious about competing this year they have to
entertain trades.

Looks like Diamondbacks aren't going away and Padres aren't going to be
under .500 the whole season.

Lot of other NL teams above or around .500 so they're going to need help
to break out of the pack.

What have they got for trade bait? Other than Bart. They can't afford to give away of the minor league players right now.

I guess that's true to a certain extent. Webb isn't making huge money
and he's still young.

It's not like they have some MVP-level player or Cy Young contender on
the roster and you want to bring in help by trading prospects.

But their prospects aren't that strong. The most current ranking I
could find is #17.

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10076951-updated-mlb-farm-system-rankings-at-2023-seasons-quarter-mark

Dodgers are #2 or #1 despite drafting well below the Giants for the past
decade.

Either Farhan isn't that great at drafting or the farm system can't get
the best out of these prospects.

Or both.

Only prospects that would have value are probably Harrison and Luciano.
So they could trade them but they'd have to be absolutely sure that they
can get into the post season and make some noise. They'd need all-star
players back to give up their top prospects.

Not sure they can get it. Even if they could, vets who could help now
probably would make more money than the team would want to pay. Because
the young prospects will be "cheap" to the team for probably 5-10 years.
