That might the better alternative to having him in the rotation, but
the better one would be benching him.

Yeah, I agree. Not sure I want him anywhere near a pitcher's mound. He
has a great skill of always pitching 'well enough to lose'. He's done.

I'm also tired of people getting all hot and bothered about his
'shimmnying'. Big freakin' deal. If you want that, watch Dancing With
the Stars. I want my team to have competent pitchers that can help nail
down victories...end of discussion. I don't care about how good someone
was in the past. Even when Cueto did manage to pitch well and do well
for the team, like clockwork he was always injured right afterward.
Super frustrating.

I also don't care about 'experience'. Who cares about 'experience' when
the skill level that is part of that is severely compromised? It's BS.
Experience is a good thing when it is accompanied by effectiveness.
I'd rather have really good talent with low experience than poor to
mediocre ability with experience.

I would not have Cueto on the 5 game playoff roster. He would only be the long man in a losing game.

Gausman
Webb
Descalfani
Wood-my choice for the long man
McGee
Doval
Leone
Garcia
Castro-second choice to be long guy
Alvarez
Watson-not sure he will be back
Littell
Rogers

Posey
Casali
Ruf
Flores
La Stella
Solano
Crawford
Longoria
Bryant
Yaz
Wade Jr
Duggar
Slater
Dickerson-if Watson isn't ready

WOuldn't it be great if he had a postseason run like Zito did that one year?

Certainly.

But I find the 2012 postseason rotation to be remarkable, especially by
comparison to what would have been expected at the beginning of the
season. Zito and Vogelsong at the front, then Cain (including his
perfect game), and Lincecum in long relief.

It worked well, but it was really strange to go a month considering Zito
to be the ace.
